Confidential Case Manager for Students
The Confidential Case Manager for Students is a trained staff member who provides individual support, resources, and accommodations to UT Austin students who have experienced interpersonal violence. The Confidential Case Manager is not a mandatory reporter and does not have to report identifying information to the Title IX Office. Their services are available to any UT Austin student who has experienced or witnessed interpersonal violence. You do not have to file a Title IX report to access the Confidential Case Manager services. Please use the contact information below to meet with the Confidential Case Manager.
About the Confidential Case Manager for Students
The Confidential Case Manager is a staff member that provides private, free, and trauma-informed services for UT Austin students who have been impacted by sexual assault, relationship violence, stalking, sexual harassment, and gender-based discrimination. These services go beyond support, and can include academic, housing, medical, and/or financial accommodations.
How the Confidential Case Manager for Students Can Help
The Confidential Case Manager empowers students by providing information, tools, and resources, and by allowing students to determine the course of action that best fits their needs. They are trained to listen and work with students respectfully in whatever decision they make. When meeting with the Confidential Case Manager, students may share as much or as little as they feel comfortable.
Services may include, but are not limited to:
- Offering a safe and private setting to discuss questions, concerns, and experiences regarding an incident of interpersonal violence.
- Providing information about students' rights and options regarding the Title IX reporting and investigation process.
- Exploring academic, housing, medical and/or financial accommodations and remedies.
- Referrals for on and off campus resources.

Privacy
Information disclosed during appointments will not be shared with anyone without the student's written permission. However, in the situation where there is reasonable fear of imminent harm to the student or the campus community, action will be taken to ensure safety.
Confidential employees are non-mandatory reporting resources but are not protected under Texas law as confidential. If a student's record is requested under certain legal circumstances (e.g. subpoena or court of law) or open records request, the Confidential Case Manager may be required to respond.
