About 'A Roadmap to Consent'
Consent is a part of our everyday lives. It applies every time we engage with others. Including romantic, personal, social, and academic conversations and interactions. Everyday consent is the continuous process of creating, expressing, and respecting boundaries. Consent means stopping to make sure an act or interaction is welcome.
This campaign was created for all members of the UT Austin community. Consent impacts every student, staff, faculty member, and community partner. Understanding your own boundaries and the boundaries of others can make you a better professional, friend, and community member.
The Title IX office is committed to providing support to everyone in the community impacted by interpersonal violence. There are many resources available through our campus and Austin community.
We know that sometimes, reporting is not the best option for everyone. If you want to talk to someone that is not a mandatory reporter, there are resources on campus that are confidential, and able to maintain privacy.
