
Sexual Assault Awareness Month
April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM), an annual nationwide campaign to raise awareness about sexual violence. The Title IX Office is partnering with Voices Against Violence, a program of the Longhorn Wellness Center, and Victim's Advocate Network, to invite all members of our community to participate in the following SAAM events.

Tuesday, April 1: SAAM Launches & Wear Teal Day
Sexual Assault Awareness Month begins! Show your support for survivors of sexual violence by wearing teal, the color of sexual violence prevention. Follow us on Instagram @utaustintix for updates. You can also show your support by changing your virtual backgrounds for the month of April.
Each Wednesday in April from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.: TIX Office Tabling
Come find us on Speedway to participate in a variety of activities and learn the services, resources, and educational opportunities the Title IX Office offers.
Friday, April 18 from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. at Gregory Gym Plaza: Campus and Community Resource Fair
(Hosted by Voices Against Violence) Join a variety of campus and community partners on Speedway for a resource fair designed to connect the campus community with resources available and ways to get involved.
Tuesday, April 22 from 5:30 p.m. – 7 p.m. at Gregory Gym Games Room: In Her Shoes
Join the Title IX Office for an impactful and immersive workshop designed to deepen your understanding of interpersonal violence. Through this interactive experience, you'll step into the ‘shoes’ of survivors and learn firsthand about the challenges they face. As you move through the experience, you'll explore the decisions survivors must make after experiencing interpersonal violence. Learn more about this event, and RSVP, at Hornslink.
Thursday, April 24 from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. at Welch Patio South: Take Back the Night
(Organized by Voices Against Violence) This annual event is dedicated to illuminating the movement to end sexual violence. Activities will include community building, and a survivor speak-out event. Food and refreshments available while supplies last.
Wednesday, April 30: Denim Day
Stand in solidarity with survivors of sexual assault by wearing denim. Learn more about the history of Denim Day. Tag @utautintixin your denim photos for a chance to be shared on our Instagram.
The Title IX Office offers support and resources to all students, faculty, and staff.
The Title IX Office hosts a variety of workshops to engage in discussions about setting healthy boundaries, addressing retaliation, and providing supportive measures to those who have experienced interpersonal violence.
